Flagship project
Familie auf Pfoten
A network for animal families, shelters and local partners.
Families keep a record of their animals’ lives and stay connected with littermates, parents and new families. Shelters, dog schools, groomers and other local partners get a page of their own and help each other. It is carried by donations and local partners – running costs first, then animals, animal welfare and projects in the neighbourhood.
- No third-party ads, no tracking, no data trading.
- Free today.
- Never any breeders.
For families
The animals of one family often live far apart: littermates, parents and grandparents live with different people. Familie auf Pfoten keeps them together – and gives every family a calm place for its own story.
- “My chronicle” as a space of its own, with the “Companions” timeline: arrival, origin, farewell and “in memory”
- Share selected animals with other families and the pack – private entries stay at home
- A pedigree tree across several generations
- A timeline per animal with milestones and comments, the “greetings”
- A pinboard with dates and an overview of litters
- Printable A4 collages
- Installable as an app (PWA) with push notifications
For partners
Anyone who looks after animals professionally gets their own portal page – with logo, colours, texts, contact details and a voucher families can redeem.
- “Insights” show photos from their work – only with the owners’ consent
- Offers and courses are always marked as “ad” and only appear after approval by the team
There will never be breeders here.
For shelters
An animal’s story does not begin with its new family. Shelters keep writing it – and hand it over in full on adoption.
- The shelter keeps a chronicle per animal and shows a public profile
- On adoption, a hand-over voucher moves the animal with its whole chronicle to the new family – the origin stays visible
- With consent, the story appears as a “Happy End”
The shelter may only keep reading with voluntary consent – which can be withdrawn at any time.
Discover & network
Find partners nearby and bring organisations into conversation with each other.
- Search for partners by postcode and radius
- Clicks on partner links are counted anonymously – no cookies, no IP address
- Approved organisations help each other with contacts, recommendations and exchange – never private persons
Funded by donations
Familie auf Pfoten is free today and carried by donations and local partners. The money follows a fixed order:
- Running costs first
- Then animals and animal welfare – as donations to shelters
- Plus local projects: dog meadows, poop-bag dispensers, water points
- Every quarter the numbers are published openly: income, costs and donations passed on
- Part of any surplus goes into a reserve for future server costs, the rest is donated
Principles
- Invite-only – families with roles: lead, deputy, member and guest
- Private entries stay at home; only what the family releases is shared
- Location is only used rounded and never stored
- No third-party ads, no tracking, no data trading
- Free today – carried by donations and local partners
